Digital tools boost safety

Digital tools can improve patient safety in general practice, but their success depends on how well they fit into existing workflows and whether staff are supported to use them, a review has found.

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) study, led by researchers at the University of Manchester and published inĀ BMC Medicine, analysed data from 74 clinical trials conducted between 2002 and 2025.
