Advice on asthma diagnosis has been updated under newly published QOF guidance for 2025/26 so it no longer conflicts with separate UK joint guidelines issued last autumn by NICE.

GP practices were left facing confusion last November after long-awaited UK asthma guide produced by NICE, the British Thoracic Society (BTS) and the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN)  revealed significant changes to recommendations on testing, which were different to QOF advice.
