Deadline on tax support scheme for NHS members should be moved

Pension experts are lobbying the Government to extend the deadline set for NHS pension members who want to access the ‘Scheme Pays’ arrangement for settling tax charges that apply for the 2024/25 financial year.

Financial adviser Quilter has written to health secretary Yvette Cooper urging that the Scheme Pays cut off date, which passed last week on 31 July, is moved because many pension members are still missing important financial statements for 2024/25 they need to help them understand their tax position and plan accordingly.
