NHS staff are continuing to increase the amount of non-urgent care provided to patients. Figures released earlier this month showed GPs were also facing record demand with 24 million appointments taking place – above pre-pandemic levels.
The NHS has today announced a £250 million winter access fund to support GP practices to improve availability so that patients who need care can get it, often on the same day if needed.
