A GP practice has temporarily closed one of its sites because of concerns over extreme indoor temperatures, highlighting the practical challenges facing general practice as heatwaves become more frequent and intense.

Mackworth Surgery in Derby announced it was closing this week from Tuesday until Friday, with temperatures forecast to exceed 30C.
