Two new “mega labs” will open in early 2021 to try to double the UK’s daily coronavirus testing capacity, the government has said.

And the sites will create up to 4,000 jobs, with the labs also being used to process tests for other illnesses including cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
