In certain parts of the country NHS Trusts have been writing to GP Practices to assist in identifying anyone who has not been resident in the UK for more than six months.
It all relates to how Trust’s are identifying overseas visitors and can charge for treatments. This is an established issue going back decades and health tourism is not uncommon.
However to expect GP practices to effectively monitor and report on this is not acceptable and is not a requirement that a practice must fulfill.
