NHS England are confirming changes to the contract that will allow general practice to remain open during the May bank holidays.

Health does not work at selected times and this is perhaps a reminder that primary care needs to look about the management and delivery of local services. Health does not stop at the weekend or bank holidays. Perhaps the provision of services 24 hours a day to best meet the needs of all patients should be a normal expectation.
